WHAT TO EXPECT ~ The Sicilian word “Talìa” means “Look! Admire!” – and this property certainly lives up to its name. Indeed, this small oasis in Modica’s historic centre – declared world heritage sites by UNESCO – is set against a backdrop of baroque architecture only a few miles from the coast. All guest rooms are arranged around a garden and have their own additional private terrace or balcony for guests to enjoy panoramic views of the historic city. Casa Talìa is composed of a number of small traditional houses and it offers 10 individually decorated guest rooms and 3 separate houses to accommodate different needs. Prices start from 160 euro per night.

FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ At Casa Talìa you can enjoy a delicious locally sourced breakfast served in the gardens or have a breakfast room service. There is no restaurant available onsite, but the property offers a lunch box service and it is nearby the historic town where you will have access to many local restaurants.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ Slow living is the core concept behind Casa Talìa, the ideal place for a contemplative break, providing the opportunity to reset while being surrounded by fragrances and flavours of the Mediterranean landscape. The story of CasaTalìa begins in 2001, when owners Marco Giunta and Viviana Haddad, a couple of young architects from Milan, decided to leave behind the busy hustle of their city lives, for a slower pace in Modica. Here they found the opportunity to restore part of an abandoned neighbourhood, the town’s former Jewish Ghetto, transforming each house into a unique set of guest rooms. Their project ignited further investment in the area, and today this neighbourhood represents one of the most charming and exclusive areas of the town. Now with the renovation has been completed, Casa Talìa continues to support local producers, farmers and artisans. Smart energy systems have been installed throughout the complex to manage water and energy consumption.
