WHAT TO EXPECT ~ Mauro and his beautiful family will welcome you at La Locanda del Postino inside the plateau of Pollara, a secluded destination with views over mesmerising sunsets. The property is surrounded by a rocky amphitheatre that 13,000 years ago was the largest crater of the Aeolian Islands and today is the perfect location for a yoga retreat. Here, you will find a familiar but discreet atmosphere that will make you feel at home and allow you to immerse yourself in the silence and tranquillity that characterise life in the small village of Pollara. This small hotel features 10 Aeolian style guest rooms. Prices start from 110 euro per night.
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ At the Locanda‘s restaurant, you will taste local seasonal flavours surrounded by the Pollara crater with a view over the suggestive sunset on Alicudi and Filicudi islands. And after sunset, the starred sky show begins!
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ The renovation of the farmhouse that houses La Locanda del Postino was carried out using local materials and recovering authentic elements of the historic property like the ancient Palmento where the inhabitants of the village used to bring grapes for the production of wine, and the Bagghiu, the patio that surrounds the house. Due to the scarcity of water resources available on the island, the family owning the Locanda created a rainwater recovery system, and to foster the local biodiversity they planted autochthonous crops and preserved the ancient trees of their garden. On top of being certified by Ecolabel EU, since 2019 La Locanda del Postino has been supporting the ZeroCO2 project to plant trees and create a highly positive social impact in developing countries. In each room, you will find a code to redeem your tree and follow its growth online.

Closest airports: Catania and Palermo, from there you go to Milazzo or Messina’s harbour to get a boat to Salina (boat ride is approx 1.30 h).
