One-week winter itinerary in Abruzzo

With this one-week itinerary dedicated to good-wine lovers, BeMyJourney takes you to Abruzzo, my home region and a place full of biodiversity.

This winter journey explores:
  • Abruzzo’s landscape of low intervention wines
  • 3 different areas of Abruzzo to meet passionate winemakers like Emidio Pepe, Valle Reale and Lammidia.

Why come here in the winter?

The winter is Abruzzo’s off-peak season for international travellers and you’ll find a less frenetic atmosphere, crackling fireplaces and snowy landscapes (I suggest avoiding the month of February when some areas can be affected by intense snowfalls).

This itinerary includes personal suggestions based on my travel experience, taking you on a journey to discover the region like a local. Feel free to pick and choose and mix and match the ideas.

THE TASTE OF ABRUZZO, A GOURMET EXPERIENCE

Are you a gourmand? If yes, I would personally suggest extending your trip and spend one or two nights at Casadonna, a boutique hotel signed by *** Michelin Star chef Niko Romito and home of Ristorante Reale, nominated N29 among the 50 best restaurants in the world. Until December, with BeMyJourney you’d even get a discount on your stay.
