Hortus, the Latin for garden, is a refined 16th-century residence situated in the historic centre of Modica, next to the cathedral of S. Giorgio – a masterpiece of Sicilian baroque architecture. This is the ideal retreat for aesthetes and travellers, a place of inspiration for poets and artists and an exclusive location for special occasions, to enjoy complete privacy while being in touch with the ancient soul of Sicily. A major restoration has brought back to life this centuries-old Mediterranean abode, which comprises three refined bedrooms, three en-suite bathrooms, a living area and a kitchen, complete with a wine cave cellar. Prices start from 210 euro per night.
