WHAT TO EXPECT ~The Vigilius Mountain Resort is a place full of energy, where nature is still allowed to live in harmony with itself. This is a modernist chalet and a 5-star design hotel, that lies 1,500 mt above sea level with the Dolomites in the background. The house invites you to follow the rhythm of nature and to “simply be”, just as the mountains around you do in silent perfection. Days at the Vigilius Mountain Resort mean finding the time and leisure to focus your entire attention on yourself and your own spiritual and physical wellbeing. Vigilius Mountain Resort also offers a complimentary sports programme that is conceived to make the best use of the mountain, both indoors and outdoors. Vigilius Mountain Resort has 41 guest rooms, two restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a spa. Prices start from 280 euro per night.
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ “It tastes best if it comes from the region”, it sounds simple and yet it is everything. As natural and pure as the mountain, the Vigilius Mountain Resort‘s food proposal finds its expression with a kind of cuisine that captures the specialities of this region in a healthy, wholesome and tasty way. From the aromas of the nearby environment, culinary specialities are created so that every element in a meal can enfold its own personality in a pure, unadulterated, natural and clean way. The kitchen offers a large variety of gluten-free specialities in addition to vegetarian meals.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ Designing a mountain hotel in South Tyrol, up the car-free Vigiljoch, demanded great care and respect. Architect Matteo Thun solved this great challenge following the clear principle of “eco not ego”: the Vigilius Mountain Resort was thought of as a refuge where nature – and not man – is understood as the “creator”. Vigilius Mountain Resort represents a pleasant symbiosis of modern design and comfort, combining low-energy consumption systems, the use of biomass to generate hit, the choice of radiation heaters as well as the enhancement of local traditions and craftsmanship through the organisation of events and exhibitions of local artists.
