WHAT TO EXPECT ~ Villa Lena cultivates both nature and culture, exemplifying a new way of living and experiencing a holiday. The estate is secluded amongst 500 hectares of woodland, vineyards, olive groves and organic vegetable gardens. The 19th-century villa at the heart of the property houses the Villa Lena Foundation and the artist-in-residence programme. Surrounding the villa, converted historic former farmhouses, stables and hunting lodges house guest rooms, apartments and shared facilities. Creativity and collaboration underscore life at Villa Lena with a weekly programme of events ranging from artists’ talks to children’s activities, al fresco film screenings to cooking workshops, truffle hunting and candlelit concerts to poolside DJ sets. You can spend your days exploring the woodlands or visiting nearby towns such as Lucca, San Gimignano, Siena or Florence and each evening you will gather with artists in the restaurant for a communal dining experience. Prices start from 220 euro per night.
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ Villa Lena has two bars and one restaurant proposing innovative farm-to-table dining. Whether lunch, aperitivo hour, a picnic in the olive groves or wild dining in the woods, the creative menu takes a new approach to the Italian culinary heritage by celebrating seasonal flavours and ingredients picked directly from the vegetable gardens.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ Being surrounded by a wild forest and farmland at Villa Lena, one is reminded of the complex beauty of the natural world and our part within it. Villa Lena offers you memorable experiences with an innovative and bespoke approach to sustainable travel. This old-world estate has a fresh forward-thinking attitude, therefore sustainability isn’t merely a lifestyle choice here, but the absolute heart of everything. On top of Villa Lena‘s charitable endeavours and local community support providing several jobs at the estate, their founding principles are focused on creating a community for creative exchange and dialogue. Whether a guest, artist or employee, Villa Lena aims for you to leave the place with a renewed sense of purpose and heightened respect for nature, a passion for using creativity to inspire others, as well as an appreciation for the slower things in life. This commitment allows you to reconnect with nature, explore your creativity and nourish yourself with farm-to-table cooking.
