WHERE ~ Manduria, Western Apulia
BEMYJOURNEY’S EXPERIENCE ~ “I chose Masseria Cuturi for its raw and simple beauty, the view over the golden countryside and the roof terraces to have a coffee as you wake up, or a glass of wine at sunset.” Andrea
BEMYJOURNEY’S EXTRA ~ BeMyJourney’s travellers who will stay longer than 7 nights will be treated with an aperitif to taste Cuturi‘s organic wines. Get in touch with Andrea to benefit from this treat.
WHAT TO EXPECT ~ Set in a world of unspoilt nature, Masseria Cuturi is a place where the past and present coexist, immersed in the scents and the silence of nature and total wellbeing. The story of Masseria Cuturi is steeped in memories, full of both ancient and more recent tales. Here, the very first Primitivo vines were planted back in 1881 and today the Cuturi family continue to preserve this natural treasure, saturated with the Mediterranean aromas. The estate covers roughly 280 hectares and is situated 3km from the wild and pristine beaches of the Ionian Sea, in the Alto Salento. The area is a treasure chest, holding archaeological finds from the ancient Messapian civilisation, a wood and a 17th-century farm. Prices start from 140 euro per night.
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ All the food proposed by Masseria Cuturi is seasonal and locally sourced, coming from Cuturi’s organic vegetable garden or supplied by local farmers. Masseria Cuturi is a partner of the Mediterranean Diet Foundation and serves as a place for study, training and research on the Mediterranean produce. The Mediterranean diet is focused on health and the Masseria’s production of wholly organic goods supports the effectiveness of this enlightened approach to food. Together with the Foundation, they organise professional courses and seminars.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ Masseria Cuturi produces organic wine and uses smart systems to manage energy consumption and solar panels to produce the hot water and electrical energy needed to supply the hospitality business. Masseria Cuturi owns a sustainability certification by ICEA.
